Not impressed with Carnival Freedom by
A Traveler from Boston, MA
Sailing date: Oct 2009 Pros:
Grand Cayman
Cons:
Guest Services
Our TV in our stateroom stopped working after the second day. After repeated trips to guest services and promises of it being fixed. It never did work. We were given a reference number and told to call Carnival when we got off the ship as they never resolved the problem.
We also booked our wedding through Carnival and it was a nightmare to say the least. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE BOOK A WEDDING VIA CARNIVAL.

Stateroom Quality TV not working
Ship Staff Quality Guest Services did not care about our TV not working. We just wanted to stay in and watch a movie a few nights on our honeymoon! IT sucked.

A wonderful and fabulous cruise. by
James R. from Port St. Lucie, FL
Sailing date: Aug 2009 Pros:
The layout of the ship, the food, the entertainent, the whole staff's accommodating us to fulfill all our needs.
Cons:
The disembarkation process was disorganized, very slow moving lines, last ones to disembark vessel, tiresome.
Our overall review of the ship was the decor and convenience to all decks with plenty of elevators and plenty of activities for all ages. The whole crew was so very accommodating and went above board to fulfill all of our needs.

An Excellent Cruise by
A Traveler from New York
Sailing date: Aug 2009 Pros:
Its Children Friendly
Cons:
I cant think of any cons
this ship was the Carnival Freedom. It was an easy going cruise. It was children friendly. I like the fact that the pools and jacuzzis stayed open late at night, which allowed alot of private time.
Ship Quality The ship was kept clean at all times.
Dining/Food The food was excellent, only thing i wish they had was a tai restuarant like there was on the carnival valor.

Key West, Florida Should not be a port of call. The beaches are junk, avoid or swim at your own risk.
George Town, Grand Cayman Great beaches.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica They saved the best for last. The people were great. The falls were magnificent. The food spectacular. Top of the line beaches.
Don't Miss: The Dunns Riverfalls

WISH I WERE THERE! by
LAREE B from Atlanta GA
Sailing date: Apr 2008 Pros:
The service was great! Friendly Staff!
Cons:
Carnival staff at the Miami Port
We sailed on the Freedom-- the last cruise before sailing to the Med Sea. It is a beautiful ship, the shows were wonderful! At all costs however avoid leaving out of Miami. The Carnival staff there is for the most part rude and they are never wrong. YOU are! AND that was the most unorganized crew we've seen. We were told we would board at 11:30 and more than an hour went by before we were allowed to board. When asked why Carnival staff did not know and gave several answers. Again they were very rude! The port workers are uninformed.
Back to the ship---any cruise that includes Half Moon Cay or Grand Turk is already a great cruise, and this one did. San Juan was wonderful too! St Thomas a disappointment.
Ship Quality A bit confusing getting from one end to the other but the journey was beautiful!
Dining/Food The fish n chips restaurant was good as was the sushi bar and stif fry is a great idea!

Grand Turk Island Again always a wonderful stop!
Don't Miss: Snorkeling
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island) ALWAYS great stop! The water is too beautiful to be believed and Carnival is very organized when getting us off and on the boat!
Don't Miss: Buffet on the island!
San Juan, Puerto Rico I LOVE San Juan! I heard it was not always this nice but they caught a clue! The old town is quaint and I could not take it all in! The port is clean and friendly too.
Don't Miss: Tour of old San Juan/fort.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Skip "Best of" tour. It had filthy bathrooms with no soap and stalls that did not close. The lookout points are pretty but overgrown with brush and so many tour buses blowing their horns at each other. Meaghans Bay was nice but not worth the money.
Don't Miss: Stay on the boat.

Great time...again by
Julie O. from Sarasota, FL
Sailing date: Mar 2008 Pros:
The dinner service was outstanding. Our room steward did a great job everyday.
Cons:
The hours of the dance club were changed without notice to accomodate the teens.
Our nine year old daughter enjoyed the cruise as much as we did. The staff was professional and met all of our needs.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food The selection of food in the buffet area met the needs of the vegan, meat eater, and picky child. Clean areas for the most part. The dress code needs to be enforced in the dinner room. Wet bathing suits in the buffet area led to frequent searches for dry chairs

Cozumel, Mexico
George Town, Grand Cayman I was disappointed in the length of time we had to wait for a tender to shore.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica We had no intentions to shop, but were funneled through a shopping area by our guide at the Dunn's River Falls even after our group made it clear that we were ready to continue our excursion (Bamboo Beach Club).

Philipsburg, St. Maarten Don't Miss: Dawn Beach was a great beach with no crowds and a little bit of waves since it faces the Atlantic Ocean.

Best Week EVER by
Mike Z. from Randolph, MA
Sailing date: Jan 2008 Pros:
I liked everything. The food, entertainment, clubs, bars, etc. were GREAT!!!!!
Cons:
Would have liked more of a younger crowd. The hot tubs weren't open late enough.
The ship was beautiful. It was nice being on a brand new ship and everything look state of the art. Dinner in the main dining hall was excellent and the shows in the Victoriana Lounge were great.
