First time on Carnival by
Ron F from Cape Canaveral, Florida
Sailing date: Aug 2009 Pros:
The crew was fantastic...friendly, warm, with great service
Cons:
quality and selection of food
This was our first cruise on Carnival...we've always gone on Princess. We found the food selection and quality well below what we get on Princess.
There is NOT a refrigerator in each cabin...something we prefer.
There was plenty to do for our grandkids..Camp Carnival is a great idea.
The slot machines and VP in the casino were very tight...
The production shows (singers and dancers) were among the best we've seen...the magician, juggler, and comedian were terrible
Ship Quality
Dining/Food see above...
drinkes are overpriced
Stateroom Quality no rerigerator....plenty of closet and drawer space
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities library had very limited hours and limited selections
Children's Programs grandkids loved Camp Carnival...free until 10 pm
Collapse List of Ports
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island There's NOTHING in Freeport...there is shopping and a beach in Lucaya
Make sure you get a full cab from the port...it's only $5 and ask before you get in...else you might get stuck for $27
Don't Miss: if you like gambling, the casino in Lucaya pays better than the ship
Nassau, Bahamas Compared to caribbean ports, Bay Stree is a little run down...usual store found in most caribbean ports...good prices on licquor..some better and some worse than on the ship..took the tour with the Pirate ship museam..good trip

just another cruise by
Susan C. from providence ri
Sailing date: Jul 2009 Pros:
the food
Cons:
the entertainment
My overall impression of the ship was underwhelming. I have taken many carnival cruises before and thought that the sensation was going to be different because it was just remodeled but it was just like all the others in its class just with a few umbrellas on deck and a tiki looking hut.
Ship Quality was nice and clean, layed out well but inside the decor was outdated
Dining/Food the food in the dining room was good, the lido was good too but the lines were way to long. I could never get near the grill.
Stateroom Quality liked the comfort collection on the bedding, condition of stateroom was good.
Ship Staff Quality ship staff was for the most part good. the dining room staff left me with a sour taste. Always ran out of drinks and bread. Assistant waiter was never around
Entertainment & Activities the shows were poorly done and cheesy! The comediens were half rate. It was as though because it was an older ship the class of entertainment was poor.
Children's Programs the staff was nice. the hours of operation were good. some of the activities listed that my daughter wanted to do were not done.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island nice place, took a cab to lucaya, beach was clean
Nassau, Bahamas atlantic is a must see.

Sensation Rocks! by
Leslyan Jones from Orlando FL
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
Camp Carnival
Cons:
Cruise too short
OMG, This was our first cruise and we are already planning our second. I was a little worried at first that our small children might get sea sick and be stuck on me, but buoy was I surprised. With the help of Camp Carnival, I hardly saw the kids. They didnt like it when we checked them out. THe services were great. My husband and I got to spend quality time together doing adult stuff and just having a blast with onboard activities. It was comforting that I took the kids and they also enjoyed kids stuff. It was an overall good experience. We came back feeling relaxed and well rested as opposed to tired and feeling like we need a vacation from this vacation. GREAT!!!GREAT!!!TIME!!!

Sensational Cruise! by
A Traveler from Durham, NC
Sailing date: Apr 2009 Pros:
Room
Cons:
Rush involved withDebarkation
This was my first cruise. The Carnival Sensation Ship was very large, or so I thought. When we got to the port and I saw some of the other ships and I was amazed at their size. The Sensation was great despite being a smaller ship. I could not have asked for better service and a better time.
Ship Quality Only exception was one of the main elevators were out of order.
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality I had a suite. Very lovely room, well lit and nicely decorated. Balcony was smaller than expected with very little privacy. Limited power outlets, one in the bathroom and one on the counter.
Ship Staff Quality Very friendly, very accommodating, and helpful.

A fun cruise by
Bette B. from Maple Shade, N.J.
Sailing date: Dec 2008 Pros:
The adults only deck!
Cons:
Cabin size & layout
Definately a fun ship, lots to do. The menus were diversified, covering all diet restrictions. Staff friendly & helpful.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Food was excellent... as was the dining room staff. They were not only efficient, but entertaining as well.
Stateroom Quality Our room stewart was excellent! Pleasant and accommodating.
Only complaint is that the cabin layout was not as represented. Cabin felt cramped and narrow.
Ship Staff Quality One of our room mates had a rough couple of days and at dinner, they went above & beyond to suggest food to soothe her stomach.
Entertainment & Activities I did the dolphin swim and it was an incredible experience. Our guide at the "Dolphin Experience" was a 10 yr. veteran who made our excursion unforgettable. I had missed the deadline to take one tour, so the tour desk representative suggested I take a taxi to Atlantis. I did and spent about 5 hours visiting the aquariums, lagoons and beach. Great suggestion!
Collapse List of Ports
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island Unfortunately I only got to see the vendors near the ship because we did the dolphin tour that took most of the day.
Don't Miss: The Dolphin Experience
Nassau, Bahamas If you do nothing else, visit Atlantis on Paradise Island. The taxi ride one way is only $4 and the driver is quite knowledgeable on other things to do or see on the Island. I would avoid the see thru kayak tour, because the kayaks were made of thin plastic and very hard to control. Several people were drifting and had to be pulled back.
Don't Miss: Atlantis with it's aquariums, beautiful gardens, lagoons and water rides

This was a great cruise. We enjoyed it. by
A Traveler from Conyer GA
Sailing date: Jul 2008 Pros:
The staff was very helpful and pleasant
Cons:
There are no vending machines. If you are a snacker like I am you would like to see vending machines.
The staff and food was enjoyable. The shows was one of a kind. Everything was clean and there was no odor.
Collapse List of Ports
Nassau, Bahamas Always get a tour guide so that you can see all over the island. If you are just walking along you do not get to experience everything there is to see.
Don't Miss: the million dollar suite with the aquarium.

Cruising with teenagers! by
Crockett N. from LAGRANGE, GA
Sailing date: Jun 2008 Pros:
I felt totally safe about my girls walking around the ship alone.
Cons:
They complained that there wasn't enough to do together because of the age seperation for the clubs in their age group.
I really think this was a great cruise. I would most definately recommend if you are traveling with teenagers to let them take a friend the same age. My girls are 13 and 17 and the activities were broken up in ages 12-15 and 16-18 so they were not able to do things together. My husband is already talking about another trip for next summer and letting them both take a friend. He also wants to go for a longer trip. This trip was 4 days and three nights.
Ship Quality The ship size was good. Never did I feel cramped.
Dining/Food I ordered room service for breakfast every morning and it was great not having to get up early and stand in line for breakfast.
Stateroom Quality I booked two rooms with a window view and it was perfect for my family. My girls had their space and we had ours.
Ship Staff Quality We were always greeted with a smile and every need we had was met.
Entertainment & Activities I am not much of a club person but if you are you would like to travel Carnival Sensation it offers a lot of clubs at night.
Children's Programs I was expecting more for my teenagers to do and my girls did complained about not having things to do together.
Collapse List of Ports
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island We went to the beach at Freeport and rode a bannah boat as a family and my girls really enjoyed that.
Don't Miss: Water activities.
Nassau, Bahamas We did a horse and buggy tour and it was very educational. We also did a glass bottom boat tour and it was not what I expected. I felt like that was a waste of time and money.
Don't Miss: The horse and buggy tour.
