Carnival Inspiration by
Vic D from Florida
Sailing date: Jun 2009 Pros:
the length of trip
Cons:
poor service and guest services and the kids club director was horrible
The ship was dirty and the pressure of people selling drinks was very rude. I have been on other carnival cruises and felt they were much more pressuring to drink on this cruise line. The guest services staff were rude and half spoke such poor english you could not understand them. There was way too much smoking on unauthorized areas of the ship. As an exsmoker that was horrible, everywhere you went people were smoking in your face.
Ship Quality Not enough womens bathrooms in the pool area, I was supprised there were not rest rooms put in more frequent areas, it was hard to get to a rest room you had to go to different floors and it was confusing.
Dining/Food The food selection on the decks was the same everyday. the Dinning room, had the same deserts and some of the food was not cooked like the noodles were rubbery and wasn't high quality as in other ships.
Stateroom Quality We had an upgraded room and the air condition didn't work the first day on arrival to the room the bathroom smelled like strong urine, we complained 3x and they cleaned it but it still smelled so bad of urine. The rom air condition was so hot, they bascially told us there was nothing they could do for us.
Ship Staff Quality I had an issue and not a single person went above and beyond to help me. i was basically told I should have read the fine details prior to booking the cruise.
Entertainment & Activities They only had 2 shops ad 2 R rated entertainers that used r rated content, not for families or teenagers.
Children's Programs I had an issue with this dept. there was nothing for the teenagers to do, very poor put together services.

relevant entertainments
Cons:
Visisted one country in Five days (Boring)
The cruise was ok; we had many entetainment venus offered to us. However, it stinks to visit a 7 mile country with nothing to see.
I went to a bahamas cruise with Carnival. It was much more fun than this one.

Cozumel, Mexico The shopping at the port is the best option. We went on the tour of the ruins. It was very educational. Don't fall for the tour guides insistance that he will take you to the best place to buy local crafts. We found the prices to be double or triple that of the port.
George Town, Grand Cayman We enjoyed swimming with the sting rays. The water was beautiful.

We had a good time, BUT... by
Katja P from Jacksonville Florida
Sailing date: Dec 2008 Pros:
The shore excursions
Cons:
The ship was very crowded, and seemed to cater to a younger crowd
This was our first cruise, and because of that perhaps we did not know which questions to ask before choosing our boat. First let me say that we both had a good time. We thoroughly enjoyed the shore excursions in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Our certified two tank dive trip in Grand Cayman was well organized, relaxed and very professional. The sting-ray experience in Cozumel was really the experience of a lifetime. We were both skeptical when we first arrived at the Sting Ray enclosure, as we both expected to be swimming with wild stingrays, however, the educational way the staff presented the encounter and the excitement of having these sting rays all around us, soon made us forget any reservations we had at first. The food on board was OK. The buffet was pretty much average buffet food and the dining room meals were nice, although rather average. There was however a pizza grill on board that made the absolute best wild mushroom and goat cheese pizza fresh to order 24 hours a day. The only real negative about this cruise was that the ship was absolutely full of teen agers and young adults, and most of the entertainment seemed to cater to that age group. All of the lido deck parties were very loud, mostly rock and roll, and even on New Years Eve they played Leonard Skinner Free Bird instead of Auld Langsyne In addition to the lido deck rocking out, the disco also played loud rock. Those were the only two choices for anyone wanting to dancea disappointment to my husband and me, as we love ballroom dancing. The boat was also very crowded and finding a deck chair was nearly impossible unless you got up early and reserved one by putting your towel on it, something that the signs said was not allowed, but everyone seemed to do just that. I might try a different Cruise, but I would definitely not go on that particular ship again.
Ship Quality The ship was always crowded, deck chairs were impossible to find, and the bathroom on the Lido deck was out of order for almost the whole trip.
Dining/Food The pizza was exceptional!
Stateroom Quality The room was small, but the staff was great and the towel animals were really fun!
Ship Staff Quality The staff was always friendly
Entertainment & Activities The shore excursions were great!

Cozumel, Mexico The sting ray and snorkling encounter was very good. I would not really spend a lot of time in the "tourist zoo" where all the shops are.
George Town, Grand Cayman We went on the two tank certified dive and it was wonderful.

Had an interesting experience! by
Carol W. from Delanson, NY
Sailing date: Nov 2008 Pros:
Cozumel
Cons:
Food service
The ship was recently refurbished and was very attractive. The staterooms were great. Our room steward and the cruise director were very nice. The shows and classes were excellent. Good experience.
Ship Quality The ship quality was fine, although things tended to get sloppy on debarkation day!
Dining/Food The food variety and quality was average for a cruise ship. It was wonderful having 24-hour pizza, ice cream, and beverages. The buffet areas were well-stocked and offered the "usuals" as well as daily specialties: Italian, French, Caribbean, American cuisine. The separate areas for specialty food, salad, beverage, pizza, deli sandwiches, and dessert was a good idea. Dining room service was also available most days for breakfast and lunch as well as the usual dinner experience.
Stateroom Quality The room was large enough to accommodate our needs and was a good size for a cruise ship. Beds were comfortable and the shower was great!
Ship Staff Quality Overall, the staff was very friendly and willing to help. Our room steward and the cruise director were especially fine. The cruise director made everyone feel special at the Talent Show, even though the "talent" was unevenly matched. Each "act" was unique and all were very good. The director made every participant "special" but not "more special" than the others. Our dining room staff was friendly but not up to par with other wait staff on this cruise and as I recalled from a former cruise. They meant well but were not as polished and efficient as they are expected to be. It became a major disappointment of the trip.
Entertainment & Activities I thought the shows were excellent! Very entertaining and polished. The classes offered were fun and interesting. I'd like to see even more of those!

Cozumel, Mexico Access to Cozumel and shopping was excellent! We could walk directly from the ship to a huge variety of shops. The "recommended" jewelry stores had good quality items, but the obvious "commission" for sales was a disappointment. It was great fun walking around the area and stopping for a drink. Some members of our party hired a cab for a private tour around the city. They enjoyed it immensely. The driver stopped at the beach and waited for them, then continued on the local tour. I was pleased to be free to wander without fear of getting lost or overly tired. It was a very lovely, relaxing time.
George Town, Grand Cayman Since the weather was not the best, we took "The Best of Grand Cayman" bus tour around the island. What a waste of time and money! It was valuable in that we saw the entire island --- and knew we'd never want to go there again! The rum store and the stop in Hell were definitely tourist traps and gimmicks. Shopping at the dock area was ok, but a waste.
Don't Miss: The chickens snacking on french fries in front of the Kentucky Fried Chicken shop! A real photo op!

Cruise Review by
A Traveler from Syracuse, NY
Sailing date: Jun 2008 Pros:
There were many entertainment opportunities through the duration of the cruise.
Cons:
The food and the staff service.
My expectations of the actual cruise were different having been on previous cruises with a different cruise line;however my goal was to just get away and have a good time and that goal was acheived. Someone who has not had the cruise experiences that I have would most likely view this experience as superior. The staff members that I talked to seemed to have low employee morale and weren't informative when questions were asked, havng been used to other cruises where the staff goes above and beyond for the customer. There was not the perfectionism quality that I had expected in terms of service. Again, having been on other cruises, the food was not well presented and the food experience was not the same as on other cruises. I did appreciate the casualness of the entire cruise. This cruise seems ideal for families and groups and for people who just want to get away, but was not the "ideal" cruise experience as one might have dreamed about as in the Titantic. I loved the water slide and minature golf components. I hardly experienced any real extended wait time as I had anticipated. However, having those two items took away the number of pools and hottubs that could be offered on the ship. The one (and only) pool was always very crowded and not very usable. Because there were so many kids, there were always plenty of lounge chairs available on the deck. You didn't feel like you had to camp out early in the mornng to obtain the lounge chair. The cruise seemed highly affordable and would be perfect for someone who wanted to have the cruise experience. The shore excurtions were fun.
Ship Quality I did not always experience clean dishes. The layout was confusing and missed the "Promenade" deck that allows you to walk the outside of the cruise ship as experienced on other ships.
Dining/Food The staff did make efforts to change seating time which was highly appreciated. The overall quality and presentation of the food did not meet my expectations.
Stateroom Quality The stateroom I was in was ok. They did not have a hairdryer and did not permit irons in the rooms. The window was not washed as having experienced that on other cruises. It was hard to obtain information. Service was slow as compared to other cruises and that perfectionist quality was missing. My expectations were different compared to someone who may have never cruised before. However, the goal of just getting away was acheived.
Ship Staff Quality It was very difficult trying to obtain information. The staff did not seem well informed.
Entertainment & Activities There seemed to be a well balanced (variety) of entertainment and activities to pick from.
Collapse List of Ports
Cozumel, Mexico I enjoyed the Clear Kayak and snorkel. The instructor was very informative and seemed to love his job. He seemed to know exactly where to go to find the most fish.
The shopping was fun too; however, the store employees were very pushy and didn't give you the opportunity to enjoy window shopping .
