We had a wonderful time, by
Joan B from Clinton, Md.
Sailing date: Sep 2009 Pros:
Food, meeting new people
Cons:
everthing was fine.
the cruise was very nice, we had a lovely time, and I believe we gain about 10 pounds.
Ship Quality everything was so nice and clean, layout the whole nine-yards, also I work at the White House, so you know I did my inspection even down to the brass.
Dining/Food the food was good, but I think I ate a little to much. I could not resist
Stateroom Quality I enjoy sitting on the balcony, early morning drinking coffee.
Ship Staff Quality going above and beyond the call of duty.
Entertainment & Activities entertainment was excellent around dinner time, fantastic. keep up the good job.

had better on Royal Carribian by
Sue T from Annapolis, Maryland
Sailing date: Sep 2009 Pros:
had big bedrooms and bathrooms
Cons:
Room Steward
Bedrooms were of a good size, and had very nice closet (3) space, and other storage space for clothes and stuff. Bathroom could handle more than 1 more person, and the shower had great water pressure. We had a balcony, very nice

Ship Staff Quality Room steward was never around until night before we came back...suppose he wanted extra tip, which he did not get. We had ordered the continental room service twice, neither time was it delivered, we had to call down for it.

Carnival Miracle by
A Virginia Traveler from Virginia
Sailing date: Jul 2009 What a wonderful vacation! The ship departed from Baltimore so no flights to catch or airport issues to deal with. Port Baltimore was easy to get in and out of and the staff there was organized and top-notch.
Ship Quality The ship was decorated beautifully, but the art contained pictures of naked men/women/cherubs. Fine for my family all older teens and adults, but could be an issue for families with younger children. Butterfly lounge was unique and the ship was very clean. I loved the warm, rich colors and the old world charm.
Dining/Food The food was great. The selection was varied and sophisticated (first time I ever had strawberry soup and I loved it!). They didn't have a midnight chocolate buffet however, and I always look forward to that on a cruise. My family ordered two entrees almost every night. They loved the selection.
Stateroom Quality The stateroom we had was on an upper floor with a balcony. Very clean and comfortable. Our towel creatures were GREAT and included a flying monkey that was hanging from the ceiling! Beds and shower were very comfortable and the balcony was nice size.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island Disappointed a bit on this island, but it was probably my fault. Didn't book an excursion - just shopped at Port Lucaya. Heard it was a great market - cost $5 per person to get there by taxi each way. Our taxi driver was a very bad driver!! I was not impressed with the market. We did make a few purchases, but the place is nothing great. We did get to the casino right across the street and had fun there, then looked at the beach (which looked wonderful), but next time I would recommend a real excursion to a beach or snorkeling or such.
Grand Turk Island The snorkeling at Grand Turk was the best I've ever seen. Many many color fish, huge beautiful reefs, and if you've ever cruised you know that the water is crystal clear.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island) Didn't want to leave Half Moon Cay. White sandy beaches, plentiful food, lots of staff to assist, no problem finding beach chairs or space. The perfect island. I would go back there again in a minute

A so - so cruise. by
Anita M. from Arnold, MD
Sailing date: Jul 2009 Pros:
Our balcony cabin, food in dining room, customer service of Shore Excursion desk.
Cons:
Dining room service, trash left here and there.
Beautiful ship but not for children.
Ship Quality The ship was decorated in an "Italiate" theme. Very beautiful but not so much for families travelling with young children. There were naked women all over the ship. A statue of David was on public display while using the glass elevators and, again, he was completely naked. My 9 year old walked with her head down through the public areas.
Dining/Food Food was very good in the dining room however, our food was always cold or luke warm. This may be due to our serving staff or that they brought it out of the kitchen too soon and let it sit while we were enjoying our appetizers or salads. Was not happy with the Mermaid Grille ---- the lines were too long. We visited this restaurant at different times and had to wait every time. Again, if you visited one station your food was cold by the time you made it back to your seat.
Stateroom Quality Our balcony cabin was roomy enough for 3 of us and was well kept.
Ship Staff Quality Assistant Cruise Director Matt was excellent. Cruise Director Danny was very informative and funny but Matt stole the show.
Entertainment & Activities Shows were good. Lots of dancing. Could have used another type of act for one of the nights.
Children's Programs My daughter attended only twice --- she wasn't too thrilled with the activities but the staff did a good job. I would have never known that there was over 800 children on board.

Nice week at sea by
A Traveler from Windsor, CT
Sailing date: Jun 2009 Pros:
the weather
Cons:
the food
This was a nice drive from CT - taking less then 5.5 hours, and the port was easily located off of I95. The ship was nice inside with a lot of different paintings and sculptures. My 2 year old could have rode the glass elevators all day!. The food was so so, and was not at all what we had hoped for. The deserts were very good, and was needed since the regular food left you wanting more. The staff was very friendly, and the pools were nice and were not crowded. We did the Atlantis excursion, and it was awesome. It is clearly the best water park, my daughter loved everyone of the slides. In Freeport, we did the glass bottom boat ride, and were disappointed because we didn't many animals and the viewing away was very small. The weather was perfect for our trip since we had 3 Sea days.
Ship Quality The rooms were clean, the kids loved the towel animals. it wasn't too hard to get from one end to the other for the ship. The tables in the buffet area could have been cleared a little more often, so it would look cleaner.
Dining/Food We had two sit down lunches, and one sit down breakfast. The food quality and quantity did not meet our expectations. We have heard such good things about the foods, but we were really disappointed. We had an omlette the last day of our cruise, and it looked like it was made with one egg. I had french toast with strawberries, and it was served with warmed strawberry jam. The buffet food was good - for a buffet. the kids selection was poor - they had a more appealing buffet for kids, but was only open from 11-3.
Stateroom Quality we had a balcony view, which was a bit small. the room was clean and was "almost" big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The TV Channel selection was poor (no kids channel when we were out to sea) so it was hard to try to have the kids entertain themselves while getting dressed.
Ship Staff Quality everyone who greeted us was always smiling, and saying hello
Children's Programs on the first night, there was a nice dance party - other then that, the activities didnt look too appealing for our kids
Collapse List of Ports
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island We did the Glass bottom boat ride. the viewing area was too small and cramped. the viewing time was pretty small, but the kids seemed to enjoy it.
Nassau, Bahamas Atlantis is a must do (as long as your kids are over 48in!). my daughter was able to do most of the slides, even though she is 46in - but of course, the one ride that she wanted to go on, the lifeguard wouldnt let her. there is a big kids area as well. there were 3 other cruise ships in port, but the water park was not busy. The only downfalls to this place is that it is a walk from the main entrance of the Atlantis property to the waterpark, and the locker rental was at the far end of the waterpark - and there was a huge line. Also, the taxi drivers who shuttle you from the dock to Atlantis and back - drive horrible!! DO NOT sit near the side door, or the front of the taxi bus..

A wonderful family cruise! by
Candace H. from Virginia
Sailing date: Jun 2009 Pros:
The ship was beautiful. The staff was fantastic, especially the Camp Carnival staff. Going out of Baltimore was very easy.
Cons:
The ports on this itinerary were not the greatest. Although Half Moon Cay was great.
I would definitely sail on this ship again. The decor was very nice, not all neon and glitz. The layout of the ship was nice. The staff was great.

It was just wonderful!! by
Barbara E. from Baltimore, MD
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
The Carvinal Pride was beautiful, clean and everyone was so friendly. The entertainment was great! We are ready to go again.
It was a great vacation. We couldn't find anything wrong. The cruise directors and staff was great. The ship was clean. You would never have known there were 2000 guests on the ship. It had so much room to move around. There were always lounge chairs at the pool. Lots of activities to do. We really enjoyed our vacation. Half Moon Cay and Grand Turks were beatiful too.

Mazatlan, Mexico Cab ride again $3 and went to another beach.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico We asked our waiter what beach to go to and he said NIKKI BEACH. We took a $3 cab there and it was beautiful. Lounge chairs with cushions and cabanna's. Great day. Then we walked around the streets.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico This by far was the best port. We took a water taxi and had a tour by a local $7 and the went to the beach caled the office. Had lunch on the beach and had a very relaxing day.

CARNIVAL DON`T CARE by
Ronnie from Jacksonville, Fl
I have been on 4 cruises on another cruise line and this was my first and last with Carnival. The Ship was new however after we got to our room with a balcony it had stains all over the room and was not very clean and had an odor to it and you could not see out the sliding door beacause of cakes of salt on it.after calling the desk it took 2 days for them to clean the door. The kids program was awfull it closed at 10:00pm unless you wanted to pay by the hour for baby sitting,my 11yr old girl could not even stay in there and play around without paying.I was stuck in an elevator for 2 hours with the lights out before I could talked to some one that spoke english and when they got me out they laughed about it.They charged extra for every thing. My wife and kid said it was the wourst time they ever had.Carnival did not care about anything exept your money. I would like to say something good about the cruise but there was not anything good about it.When we got back I called Carnival and told them about everthing and wrote them and they never called are wrote back.
