We had a perfect family vacation. by
Lisa L from Cary, NC
Sailing date: Dec 2008 Pros:
The food was fabulous, the comedians a riot, karoake was entertaining, loved the 60's, 70's and 80's dance night., and the sushi bar was an added treat.
Cons:
There was one night they did not offer sushi.
We stayed on Riveria. I felt the room was spacious and since we spent little time in the room it was well worth the price we payed. There was always something going on, that was fun. There was a variety of activities for everyones liking.
Ship Quality The Main area with the stairs was gorgeous with all the Christmas decorations. The ship was kept clean.
Dining/Food Dining was fabulous. Our waiter entertaining.
Stateroom Quality The bathroom was actually bigger than I expected and for my husband who is 6'5" he had no problems.
Ship Staff Quality We have cruised 2 other times. One other with Carnival. The staff was friendly but not as friendly as on previous ships - excluding our waiter.
Entertainment & Activities Comedians were outstanding. Like the late show.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island We actually went on a forum and booked our own excursion - it was the best.
Nassau, Bahamas Again, we handled our own excursion to Blue Lagoon. Fabulous.

Good and Bad by
Gina M from Wellington, Florida
Sailing date: Aug 2008 Pros:
food and our trip to atlantis
Cons:
the pools
The ship had a bad odor, the outdoor and indoor grills smelled and the pool area was not kid friendly. We thought this was a kid friendly ship with a splash area for the children, there was one little tiny pool for the smaller children and the other pools where so small and crowed no one could get in and the slide was closed most of the time. The slide had a height restriction and when it was open no one could get on. This ship was a party ship for grown ups. We did enjoy the shows and camp carnival for the children. Only problem was the shows started after 10pm and you had to pay camp after 10pm. Not very happy!
Ship Quality Ship was old and they where painting the ship while we were on it and you smelled the chemicals all day

A little disappointing for a first time by
Chris K. from Woodstock, GA
Sailing date: Jul 2008 Pros:
Lots of food. Stateroom and dining room staff.
Cons:
Entertainment was lacking professional quality. Staff not problem solvers.
Maybe I expect more than most but I was hoping for a better experience. Granted, some significant frustrations during the disembarkation process are probably coloring this a little bit but I was really hoping for a better "all around" experience.
The food in the dining room was pretty good and what I would expect. The buffet food was more like what I would find at a Ryan's or a Golden Corral. The dining room staff was outstanding. The buffet staff was not bad but inconsistent and sometimes left me scrathing my head about common sense.
Ship Quality Great condition, always clean. Many activities were in the fore section of the ship which made it seem like it took forever to get anywhere.
Dining/Food Dining room food was excellent. Buffet food was average.
Stateroom Quality Very clean. Always took good care of us. Comfortable bedding.
Ship Staff Quality This was very inconsistent. Overall, most were good or better but there were some real stinkers.
Entertainment & Activities I did not care for the entertainment and activites. Entertainment was amatuerish and the activities were poorly organized and too rigidly run to be enjoyable.
Children's Programs They kept my kids for 3 hours. In that time, they played by themselves and watched movies. My kids even noted that for that they could have stayed at home. It looked like they invested much more time in the older kids (9+) and the ones who were too little to know better (2 - 5)

Rebecca P from miami, fl
Sailing date: Jun 2008 Pros:
the attention and everything you need is at hands reach
Cons:
nothing
Our family vacation was great. We had quality time to share together while receiving quality service all around. I would definitely do another cruise vacation and i have shared with my friends of how much fun and easy it was. If I don't have to cook and clean for a week mommy is happy!! Thanks Carnival Cruise lines for a wonderful time

Ship Staff Quality Overall everyone was exceptionally friendly and I enjoyed our waiter Samuel very much his years with the company proved his loyalty but also showed Carnival's loyalty too him as well. It's impressive to me that he dedicates his life to serve our families while he sacrifices time away from his family.

Cozumel, Mexico we ate at the Choza restaurant and was very good
Key West, Florida you don't have much time to do all the things you would want to so it would be unfair to rate
Don't Miss: the weather was not too cooperative but we did the shipwreck museum and it was interesting and educational

I'll never cruise again by
Tracie B. from Cleveland, Ohio
Sailing date: Jun 2008 Pros:
the ocean, our cabin steward and the sit down dinners.
Cons:
costs, amount of people, buffet food, size and amounts of pools
The buffet food was hotdogs and hamburgers daily - the pools were too small and there weren't enough of them. The cost of alcohol was outrageous. We paid for four days of carbonated beverages but on the fourth day there wasn't even ice to be had in the Coconut Grove Bar and Grill so basically I paid 12 dollars for two warm diet cokes!!! If you had an early flight then you didn't even get to use the beverage card. There weren't enought activities for us or our children (ages 10 and 13). When you did try to get a drink or coke you had to wait in line for a bartender. If I ever cruise again Carnival will be the last resort for us.
