Fantastic! by
A Traveler from Providence, RI
Sailing date: Jul 2009 Pros:
The scenery
Cons:
Ketchikan
We were skeptical about "cruising" but our trip with Carnival was so much fun. Everyone involved with the Carnival Spirit was friendly and helpful, the ship is spectacular, and the itinerary was perfect. We had so much to do that I never touched either of the books I brought to read. We will do it again.

Juneau, Alaska The trail going up Mount Roberts (go up to 6th street and take a right-go up to the end of the street and up the stairs) was awesome! A lot of fun and activities in Juneau.
Don't Miss: Hike up Mount Roberts
Ketchikan, Alaska I didn't care for Ketchikan..seemed like one huge tourist trap to me. The tour we took just drove around town and we pulled over at a river in the middle of town to 'see wildlife'..we went to a phony 'village' that really was a gift shop in disguise. Every single store sells the same things and nothing seemed authentic. Also, the float plane excursions aren't a guarantee...they take your deposit and if the plane isn't completely full..they won't take you up so you waste your day planning around a tour that you can't count on.
Skagway, Alaska The Skagway brewery/brewpub had great food and beer!
Sitka, Alaska Sitka was the prettiest and the most fun. If you go there, hire Paul Davis of Gallant Adventure tours to take you on a wildlife tour. He wast the best! He gave us a nearly 4 hour tour, we saw and followed humpack whales, puffins, a sea otter raft, went to St. Lazaria island, drove along the coast looking for bear...great time and a great guy.
Don't Miss: Take a wildlife / whale watch with Paul Davis

Great Sailing Fun by
Carolyn W. from Dover, PA
Sailing date: Jan 2008 Pros:
The amount of time spent at sea...time to enjoy the fabulous ship.
Cons:
Shore excursions on this particular cruise were not very exciting.
This is a cruise for someone who loves time at sea. We had a ball just taking part in alll the vast activities offered on board. If you like "ship time", this is the cruise for you. Loved it!

A Fantastic Cruise! by
John T. from Piscataway, NJ
Sailing date: Feb 2007 Pros:
Onboard food selection and quality
Cons:
Ship was crowded
The Carnival Spirit was outstanding. The ship was enormous, in the 8 days I was onboard I was not able to see everything onboard. The ship was sparkling clean, and the staff would bend over backwards to make the guests happy. Two thumbs up!
Ship Quality The ship was gigantic! Many areas on the ship to explore and relax in, each public room had its own theme, giving every room its own character.
Dining/Food The food was absolutley delicious. Many food selections available in the La Playa Grill on Lido deck at all hours of the day, and the sit down dinner in the Empire Room was fit for a king.
Stateroom Quality Spacious, well equipped stateroom with a nice ocean view. Only downside was that during my entire 8 day cruise, the refrigerator for the mini-bar was kept locked closed.
Ship Staff Quality Every member of the crew made it their mission to keep the guest happy. They would bend over backwards to make sure that each and every guest was comfortable and satisfied. The room stewards and waiters were a pleasure to meet, they really made the cruise very special.
Entertainment & Activities Lots of onboard activities and shows. Always something to do at any hour of the day.

Acapulco, Mexico Enjoyed the nature walk/snorkel adventure at La Roqueta, and the evening fort light show and cliff divers. However, I did not care for the shopping stop during the fort light show and cliff divers- I felt extremely pressured to buy goods, and the staff watched the customers every move. I could not even point and discuss store merchandise with the members in my party without the store staff running over to me and start haggling to get me to purchase. I should have never gotten off of the bus at that stop. I also did not care for all of the local pan-handlers, but I guess that is to be expected in a third-world country.
Don't Miss: Cliff divers
Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Mexico Really enjoyed the ATV beach adventure! Rode approx. 20 miles on a deserted, white beach with crystal clear waters was truly an unforgettable experience.
Don't Miss: ATV Beach Adventure
Manzanillo, Mexico Really, really enjoyed the ATV jungle/beach adventure!!! Rode for about 3 hours through the jungle and arond the beach, riding up and down sand dunes and jumps. Outstanding activity for those that like adventure!
