Very Pleased by
Rosalyn J. from Baltimore, MD
Sailing date: Apr 2012 Pros:
My stateroom was wonderful as well as my stateroom attendants
Cons:
Pool area too small for number of cruisers. Limited activities for young adults
I chose this cruise as a retirement gift for my mother. Overall, we both enjoyed the cruise. The Solstice is a nice ship. It did however feel extremely crowded. It was difficult to get a lounge chair at pool side. Also, the pool area is quite small as is the adults only solarium. I enjoyed my stateroom, being pampered by attendant and the balcony.
Ship Quality The ship was too small for the number of guest on this sailing. Overall, the ship was clean. The decor is tasteful. Things are relatively accessible, just crowded
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality My stateroom attendant was wonderful. Overall, i think some of the staff could have been more friendly.
Entertainment & Activities The entertainment was good by way of shows, however, I found the activities rather boring and toward the middle aged and elderly.

Fabulous cruise! by
Karen H from Lahaska, Pennsylvania
Sailing date: Apr 2011 Pros:
The ship's crew and staff were quite engaging and made the trip a pleasure. The food was also excellent!
Cons:
There is absolutely nothing to complain about - I liked the entire cruise.
I traveled with my daughter and we had a wonderful time. The time flew by. The size of the ship was just right. At no time did it seem crowded. There was always something interesting to do. The cruise director planned excellent entertainment.
The food was excellent. The quality, the presentation were spectacular. High tea was lovely and the specialty dining room experience in Murano was well worth it.
The cruise line had considered the interests of all ages on the boat and there was always something for every one.
The music was great - live entertainment - Addagio strings, classical guitarist, acapela group, shows etc.!!
Ship Quality The ship is well maintained and the staterooms were lovely.
Dining/Food Oh my! Fabulous!
Stateroom Quality Comfortable, spacious enough with a lovely veranda!
Ship Staff Quality Every member of the staff from window washers to the captain made you feel welcome and that they were indeed happy to have you aboard!

San Juan, Puerto Rico Old San Juan was very nice. The trip to the Bicardi factory was well worth the cost of the ferry ride (.50) and cab (3.00) - free admission, two drinks. We had dinner at the San Juan Cafe and it was wonderful. The outdoor dining was lovely!
Don't Miss: Bicardi factory - very inteeresting - even for a non drinker!
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. Secret Bay - a must see. A tour of the island and time on the beach - wonderful. The water - lovely! The shopping - terrific. Great buys on jewelry.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten The water and the beach were spectacular. A little too crowded for my taste, but lovely nonetheless. Nice shopping district. My daughter had her hair braided on the beach and it was a good bargain and lots of fun.
Don't Miss: A dip in the Caribbean!

Skip this cruise line! by
Scott from Ft lauderdale fl
Sailing date: Mar 2011 Pros:
No pros
Cons:
The crew and the entertainment was awful.
This was our 5th cruise and it was by far the biggest waist of our money. The crew was not friendly. The pool deck never had enough towels and dirty dishes were all over the pool deck. The entertainment was awful, a magic/comic show, please Im an adult not a 10 year old boy.
I would tell you pick another cruise line you will be better off.
Ship Quality
Entertainment & Activities no even viewable
Children's Programs kids were all over the boat.

Fantastic time by
Kate M from Boston, MA
Sailing date: Feb 2011 Pros:
Service and food delightful
Cons:
the excursions did nothing for the cruise
The ship was clean and the service was incredible. Though Celebrity is not a cruise line that is known as being kid oriented they did an amazing job at keeping our 9 yr old daughter happy and very entertained.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food though the specialty restaurants are extra-they are totally worth it. The quality is that of any top name metro restaurants
Stateroom Quality We had a sky suite facing the back. The only downfall is the outside portion of the oceanview cafe's seating was directly above us so the early morning dinners' would wake us up
Ship Staff Quality I have never seen a group of people so tireless in our efforts to make us comfortable
Entertainment & Activities Particularly enjoyed the enrichment programs around food and wine
Children's Programs Our daughter can be very shy and reserved in new situations, but the entire staff really helped draw her out and get her involved. She is already emailing back and forth with several of the other girls she befriended at the Fun Factory!

San Juan, Puerto Rico There were no excursions that allowed our daughter to attend. We wondered around a bit, but I didn't feel very inspired by any thing we saw
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. We took a snorkel/beach excursion- it left at 8:45, which meant it was still pretty cold when we got there. The beach was nice, but we had to leave by 11:30, just as it was finally warm enough. I also got a really nasty cold sore from the snorkel gear- which was just really nasty
Philipsburg, St. Maarten We tried another beach day so went for the beach rendezvous on the french side- we got there and you couldn't see the beach because the rows of the lounge chairs were so tight. Lunch was included which was horrible

Celebrity Solstice by
Joan G from Merrimack, NH
Sailing date: Nov 2010 Pros:
The stateroom and bathroom were bigger than any ship we have ever been on.
Cons:
Some of the tours were disappointing.
We just arrived home from a great cruise with Celebrity. This cruise line is definitely a cut above some of the other cruise lines. The Solstice is a beautiful, well-appointed ship. We would definitely recommend Celebrity as the cruise line to trael on. The only disappointment we had was one of our tours -- totally misrepresented. However, the tour manager, Juan Carlos, was extremely understanding and reimbursed us for the this tour. Customer satisfaction is their main concern.
Ship Quality The stateroom and bathroom on this ship were the biggest we have ever been on. We had ample storage for all our clothes and toiletries (especially toiletries).

George Town, Grand Cayman
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras We took the Best of Roatan Island tour, and it was awful. This was advertised as a tour in an air conditioned bus with a boat ride. Well, the air conditioned bus was a mini-van and not very comfortable. The boat ride was a joke as we were seated in an extended rowboat. The weight had to be evenly distributed on both sides or we would have tipped over. The western part of the island is much better according to other people we talked to. I know there is a lot of pverty here, but this island is totally undeveloped and will take years to make it fit for tourists.
Don't Miss: The Western Caribbean is not my favorite -- I think the Eastern Caribbean is much better.

One of the best cruises ever! by
Cheryl G. from Voorhees, NJ
Sailing date: Aug 2010 Pros:
service, food, entertainment, ports
This was the new Solstice class ship, and it was a beautifully designed more adult oriented ship. From embarkation to debarkation evgerything was well organized and geared for customer comfort. The small touches like chilled beverages and icedd towels upon return to the ship after a hot day at port made a huge difference. The staff were extremely attentive. My husband and I have cruised many times, but this was one of the best!

An overall great experience! by
Paula T. from Bel Air, MD
Sailing date: Jul 2010 Pros:
The ship is beautiful and kept extremely clean. The staff are all very helpful, and friendly. Really enjoyed the various ports of call.
Cons:
The entertainment
The ship was extremely clean, and had a wonderful layout. It was so nicely designed that it didn't seem overcrowded at all. My family and I never had difficulty finding a poolside seat.

Entertainment & Activities I was disappointed with the overall activities on the ship. The entertainers were good but did not compare to the activities and entertainment on Royal Carribean.

Worst cruise I have ever been on! by
A Traveler from Long Island, NY
Sailing date: Apr 2010 Pros:
quick enbarkment and disembarkment
Cons:
food, entertainment, boring quiet ship, no activities for kids
The overall appearance of the ship was nice and new but my cruise experience compared to other ships I've been on was the worst. The dining experience I didn't care for, the food had no taste and basically every evening was almost the same menu...didn't have too many choices to choose from. The buffet was not open 24 hours and they had the same thing to eat everyday from lunch to dinner. The entertainment at night was horrible and only enjoyed one night show. There was no band playing all day by the pool like other ships and at night most people were in their rooms by 12.00 am. The staff was not very friendly. There was no laundromat on board. The rooms were very small and narrow. I would not recommend this ship to someone who wants to go and have a fun and exciting time on a ship but would recommend to someone who likes a quiet ship just to do nothing but relax and go to the library.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food dining room food had no taste
Stateroom Quality small and narrow
Ship Staff Quality not a very friendly staff on board except for a few
Entertainment & Activities saw 1 good show on the 2nd night and that was it..entertainment was horrible...most nights had nothing to do but go to the casino and I don't usually gamble...but had nothing else to do.
Children's Programs If you're over the kids camp age there are no activities for older kids
